On the evening of January 17th, I had the profound honor of being part of an unforgettable journey, a grand celebration of culture and artistry at the Carnegie Hall concert of the Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet, masterfully organized by EMOLAS Corporation. As I stepped into the historic venue, the air was thick with anticipation, a palpable energy that hinted at the magic about to unfold.
The performance was a tapestry of emotions, woven together by the dancers' grace, strength, and passion. I have been privileged to witness the Sukhishvili troupe numerous times in the vibrant streets of Tbilisi and at the iconic Lincoln Center in New York City, yet what transpired that night was profoundly different—a paradigm shift in artistic expression. Each leap, each turn, and each intricate formation painted a vivid picture of Georgian history and spirit, echoing through the hall and resonating within the hearts of the audience.
Adding to the evening’s allure, we were graced by the presence of special guest Robert De Niro. After the concert, backstage was electric with excitement as he warmly greeted Nino and Iliko Sukhishvili, sharing in the triumph of a night that will be forever etched in our memories.
A heartfelt thank you to the visionary Nino and Iliko Sukhishvili, the enchanting Salome Liluashvili, the dedicated EMOLAS Corporation, and the entire ensemble of dancers and crew who tirelessly worked to set the stage for this monumental occasion. Your artistry and dedication have not only captivated us but have also inscribed a significant chapter in the annals of cultural history.
Together, we have witnessed the dawning of a new era, where tradition meets innovation, and history is not just preserved but celebrated. History has truly been made, and I am honored to have been a part of it.
